You won't debate that because you don't want to debate facts or truth...

If you want to boil the healthcare issue down to a fine point where it's all about whether or not you're being forced to pay for someone else's care... then I think you have a very narrow point of view, but you won't be honest about that.

Healthcare in this country has never really been about socialism. It's about providing care to people whether they have money today or not... cooperating and helping one another when they needed help. That was how it started. It was long after that before it became institutionalized into a provincial, then national program.
You will find people here who complain about it from time to time but at the end of the day you'll find damn few who would actually go back to a US style system.

You might remember that your hospitals have a responsibility to treat anyone who comes in the door as well... but that hospital then has to figure out how to cover the cost of doing that. I'm sure most of the cost of that comes through bilking your insurance to cover those costs... so you're no doubt being forced to pay, indirectly, whether you know it or not.
In fact, if you look at per capita health spending, the US outspends Canada by more than twice. I'd tend to think that if Canada spent thos kinds of dollars on Medicare, there would be no wait times and the treatment would be second to none.
You have a system where those with money have excellent care and those who don't... die.

Do you think that's right? Is is more important to you that the letter of the constisution be upheld, every cent of every tax dollar you pay be accounted for... than to see someone who is sick get healthcare? That seems rather petty to me.
