Might be an old habit from when cell minutes were a big deal. No issue around here, as we have only cell phones. I put our old landline number on mine so we wouldn't miss anybody.
Our cell company, USCellular, gives us free incoming calls no matter who's calling, not charged against the minutes we buy. Had a lengthy call today from a guy with truck/trailer problems. He was apologetic as he knew he was calling a cell phone. Not a problem, as he called me. The large majority of our calls are incoming.
My 97 YO mother got a cell phone this summer, still getting used to it, but I think she'll switch to cell only this fall. I see no reason for a landline, other than FAXing. Now we scan and email, works far better. I figure we save over 3 hrs/wk from the time we used to spend FAXing over the crappy wire out here.
