Good point. $2,300 is a lot now it must have been a real chunck of change in 1972. I personally know of three people still using JD140 Models all pushing 30 years of age. Not to mention that a good used 140 is still worth 3/4 of that original cost at least. Impressive even if you allow for inflation. I have a restored 1970 Model 70 JD Lawn Tractor that makes my neighbors salivate, that to me is worth my weight in gold!
