Hello, I just joined the forum and have read a lot of postings. I really need you guys! I am now the new owner of a TO30 that sat neglected for ten years outside in Vermont weather. Needless to say, it isn't running. So far, I've rebuilt the head, done a valve job, rebuilt the starter, rebuilt the steering shaft, rebuilt the carb, new ignition kit, gascolator and probably a lot more I can't remember without consulting my credit card bill. I just noticed that the clutch does not engage when I put it in gear. The clutch spring is good and strong and returns back up, but when I put it in gear, I can still turn the engine over by spinning the fan (the pistons are out and the head and starter are not installed). Can someone help me understand this? Thank you.
