Had the same thing happen pulling fert. spredder once with the 706. I tried engage, disengage, engage, disengage about 10 times with no sucess. Thought maybe it was low on trans fluid. Shut it off checked fluid. Right up to full mark. Brother in law stopped and we talked about problem for maybe 10 minutes. Started tractor up to go home and get another tractor to finish. Thought I would try it one more time. PTO started right up that time just as if nothing happened. Been working ever since. And I use the pto alot on that tractor. I bet if you go out in the morning and try it, it will work. Let me know how this turns out.
