Insure a semi truck as a recreation vehicle??

This may not seem like a question for the tractor board but it is. I collect and show the larger antique tractors. I am getting tired of working a pickup fairly hard and only getting one tractor at a time to the show. Sometimes I have to make several trips. I would like to buy an older semi truck to haul several tractors at time. It seems cheaper than buying a new 35K pickup ever 4 or 5 years. I will only use the truck about 8 times a year. I have a CDL. I can use temporary permits for license so that is not to expensive. The problem is insurance. I only need to insure it about 6 months out of the year. So far the only quotes I have got are for full commercial. I have seen other guys come in with older trucks at the tractor show. Some times their truck says "Not for hire". I have even seen those new mid size Freightliners that have a sign that says "recreation vehicle - not for hire". Are they paying for commercial insurance? Maybe I have not called around enough. Does anybody have any info on this?
