I think you may need to be more descriptive of your tractor problem.

As far as I know, that model didn't come any other way than with a dry/friction clutch and a geared transmission. If so, it sounds as if you may have a clutch problem. Be sure that you take your foot all the way off the clutch pedal and if you can, lift the pedal upwards with your toe to make sure it's not holding down on the linkage. The throwout bearing could be sticking on the sleeve or the lining could be worn out, or the springs could be weak or broken in the pressure plate.

If it's the clutch, all you have to do is break the tractor in half at the bellhousing and replace or repair the clutch parts. You can use a wheeled floor jack under the back of the engine and a wheeled floor jack under the bellhousing when you unbolt the halves and pull them apart. Make sure the floor has a hard smooth surface so the wheels on the jack can roll. You can separate it with 1 wheeled jack and the other under a chain hoist or have 1 half resting on blocks that are stable.
