I agree with METHANOL, use propane, It is probibly the cleanest burning and easiest on your engine of any of the avalible fuels.IMCO makes very good conversion equipment. If you must burn alcohol I would never consider methanol, too corrosive, I would use ethanol which is a renuable fuel and much less nasty to your engine parts. As METHANOL says Your carb's internal passages may not be large enough to get the right fuel/air mix, so you may need an alcohol carb. If you are lucky enough to be near a station that sells E 85 (85%ethanol/15% gasoline) you might try that. The 15% gasoline helps for cold starting, but you still may need a different carb.
