I went to the Churchville, NY tractor pull with my family over the weekend. It was a very fun affair. This is an old time event....no fancy rides, just a good old chicken barbecue, lots of good food, country music, lots of tracors, petting zoo for the kids. It was very fun. Even my wife, who is sort of a city girl, and was skeptical, had a lot of fun. A few observations. 1. the tractor pull....how do you tell if a tractor is really stock? Why do the same tractors run in all kinds of different weight classes. It was awesome to see those old tracors pulling, but to hear my wife say deadpan style "Boy those Olivers are some powerful machines" all weekend was more than I could stand.....we really had fun. Does the weight class include the drivers? 2. the tractor show.....tracor restoration is a crazy business. We saw machines that were very rough, to machines that I am sure were in better shape (smoother paint, etc.) than new. To me, the beaters that looked like they just came out of the field were just as much fun to see than the restorations. 3. John Deeres....why are there so many JD's restored compared to others? green was everywhere. Is it a numbers thing? that cool two cylinder sound? Why is there a 2 cylinder restorers club, why not just a restorers club? Thanks Steve

Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
