Snow never showed up, thank God

Today the snow never showed up around here so I actually managed to do some work around the farm again.

Got the 285 dualed up and greased. I changed the oil on it a couple 2 weeks ago, but didn't have time to grease it then and the grease was cold, hard to pump. One of the front hubs was a little loose, so I took the wheel off, tightened up the hub, and stuck it back together. Went for a tour around the feilds to take a look.

Starting to look pretty good out there. Maybe another 2 weeks and I can start to break some ground, if all goes well and it warms up some. Been awfull cold lately so the only thing that would be able to grow yet is oats/alfalfa.

After years of trying, it just seems like corn put in before May 15th just doesn't do so hot. Don't et me wrong though, if it's nice before then we're still gonna go like heck and try to get it in. Atleast get the ground ready.

Hopefully in a month we'll have our oats in the ground, and ready to do corn.

Sent out for new ruber torsion springs to rebuild the seat on my 1600 (sent the old ones as cores) and hope to get the new ones by Thursday so I can bring them to work on Friday and assemble the suspension again. Gonna work on blasting, painting, and reassembling the rest of the seat during the week.

Here's a picture of a chunk across the road from our farm. About 2 acres the church across the road is letting us work and plant this year. Looks tempting, but it's dryer than any of our own land right now.
