If you can locate a copy of the Army technical manual TM10-1619, it lists all the tractors that were military standard purchase items during WWII. If you have a college or university library nearby they may be able to get one for you. The standard Corps of Engineers tractor was the Case DI, though they used every version of the Case industrial tractors, and quite a few from other manufacturers, with the exception of JD. The majority of these tractors will not have any special military ID tags on them, some will but most won't. I've acquired quite a bit of information on them from government archives(photos, specs, etc.) The people at Case have lost track of the their build cards for the wartime years, so they can't give you info on specific tractors. I haven't tried other manufacturers yet. If you have specific questions feel free to email me.
