Lacquer thinner is about like using water to loosen rust, it will clean a little, but not much. The toilet bowl cleaner is an acid product and again, will not dissolve rust. Get some good penetrating oil or ATF and let it soak, it did not freeze up over night, it is not going to free up over night. Jim

While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery.
