I used to have a Toyota Landcruiser Diesel that ran 24 volts on everything in the whole vehicle other than the headlights (even the park lamps/ turn signals were 24 volts). Toyota just tapped off the first (grounded) battery. Maybe a Toyota dealership with a guy who worked on those vehicles might give you some advice. There are lots of Landcruiser sites on the internet as well with a ton of outfits that restore those diesel 24V'ers.
