I think a real key question here is what kind of activity are you gonna be doing ? If you are going to be using the front end loader a lot for 'bulldozing', (building road etc.), 4 wheel drive will be very useful (though NOT absolutely essential). When you start to cut and push with a loader it transfers weight off the rears and you come to a halt until you lift the bucket a bit. If you are trying to 'bulldoze' it makes a real rough job. 4WD changes things quite a bit in this respect. I don't have any 4WD on my place, but wish I did... but I've got 20% of the ranch that's swampy bottomland... It never really dries out I ran a mid-sized 4WD Kubota where I worked a long time ago...(25 yrs?) They were just being popularized in the US at the time. I thought pretty highly of the way it performed especially in the mud ... bbott
