CAS....how is wealth currently being transferred from farmers to Wall St. ?? Last time I looked, farmers were reporting record income (if you look at a state by state 2008 yr end summary) and Wall St. has gone from a Dow of 14,000 to Dow 7,800 ??? How is wealth being transferred away from farms ? Are you not including current value of LAND.....I find it kind of hypocritical that farmers always want to talk about "things not good" but never take into account the appreciation in land values over the yrs. Not saying it couldn't go down, but just as ANY business would do, at the end of the year you have a net worth which includes the value of your land.
