Much of that is pure BS. Spain, during peak periods, makes half of it's country's electricity from wind. So they are making 50%, and the USA less then 1%, and we're doing more??
If you go by the amount of alternative power made versus national demand, the USA is way down low on the list of producers.
If you go by the amount of alternative power made versus the population, the USA again is way down low on the list.
If you go by the average income of citizens versus money invested in alternative energy, USA loses again.
Also, in reference to Germany - their population is less than a third of the USA and they also waste less. And . . . besides their own wind power, they also get a lot from the Netherlands during times when the Netherlands makes too much to use during high wind times.
I'm on 100% solar and I don't know of anyone else in my area doing it - which seems to be the trend for much of the USA.
One more note. In the nearby Adirondack Park, overall the park makes more power than all the residents use due to hydropower, yet their electric rates are higher than mine, 120 miles away.
