I am using a Kubota f2400 mower to cut 6+ acres instead of my farmall super c and rotary mower. It is hydro static drive and it stopped moving the other day. I found a pin had sheared at the propeller shaft (drive shaft?) that holds a coupling connecting two splinned shafts. Originally I thought it to be a shear pin but a machanic says that the splinned shafts may be wore out. He says this pin is just to keep the coupling from slipping not to take the load for driving. Until after the season when I can take it for repairs can I use a harder bolt (to keep from shearing)?
