Since she is in Houston proper lets stay close.. 1 Moody Gardens @ Galveston quite a place to visit. It was started by the Moody Family original owners of American National Ins Co. there in Galveston. 2 Johnson Space Center...."Houston! We have a problem" Our Space industry was ran from here!! 3 God, Forbid you or your loved ones need Cancer Treatment,.... M.D. Anderson there in Houston. People come from the 4 corners of the World to M.D. Anderson for cancer treatment. OBTW My MIL is a 3yr survivor now from M.D.A. When she was there My wife and FIL met folks from California Penn. England, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. Cars with plates from every state in the Union were in the parking lots. 4 A short 60 mile or so drive up US 290 to Brenham, Tx. Home of Blue Bell Creamery,,, Blue Bell Ice Cream. Open Mon thru Fri. Take the tour, The day I was there, they were making Cookies & Cream ice Cream. The Guy in the back of the mixing room was opening up OREO cookie packages and dumping them into the mixer Yes OREO cookies Not some off brand of cookie. 5 Since you are @ Brenham swing over to College Station take a tour of "The Little School across the Brazos" Texas A&M. More Military grads come out of TAM than any other institution. 6 Some of the others spoke of going to Waco see the Texas Ranger Museum, and the Dr Pepper Museum too. One of the oldest Ins. Co. on the state is at Waco too American Amicable est in 1890. The Am Am building has "ALICO" on the top of it, Also it is the tallest in downtown Waco, OBTW when the Tornado of 1953 hit Waco and just about wiped Waco off the face of the map it was the only building left standing downtown.
