It'll only be $479.00 plus labor and taxes, your serpentine belt is cracked and the hoses are about to blow. If you have never looked under the hood and know nothing about what is in there and what it does, This guy is doing you a BIG favor, keeping you vehicle running instead of stranded alongside the road.
