: What are the advantages/disadvantages. looking to use boxblade and probably brush-hog. whats a good price in eastern va.? Whichever i get i would like to restore. know of an 8n bought for 2300 and a 9n thats forsale for 2700. both in about the same condition. this has me confused. thanks for any help.

There are many advantages of a 8N over a 9N. Some of these include; improved steering (recirculating ball instead of sector gears), PTO can be disengaged with lever under L/H seat, 4 speed trans vs. 3 spd., independent rear brakes, higher compression ratio (except for some early '47's), higher steering wheel and flip-up seat and running boards all allowed for driving while standing, tip out grill for easy radiator cleaning, grey sheet metal, cast iron red.
Can't really explain the price difference. There are probably more 8N's for sale than 9N's. Condition will also affect price significantly. Do yourself a favor and buy an 8.
