You found her weak point, I see. But it's not that big of a deal. You don't have to take the top cover off, just take out the oil fill plug beside the gearshift. From there look inside thru the oil fill hole and take a screwdriver and move the shifter fork for second and third gear back to neutral. As you're looking , the first one (closest) is 2nd and 3rd. The middle one is low and reverse and the far one is low and high. If it doesn't want to move, push the clutch in with your knee and use your shoulder to gently rock the rear wheel to eliminate pressure on the gears as you slide it back to the middle position. You'll know when it goes because the gearshift will then work again. Put the cap back on and start up and raise up three point to top position and shut tractor off. Then check the oil level on the dipstick to the right of the drivers seat. If low, bring up to full. I think that sometimes when the oil level gets low, it doesn't sling enough oil on the shift rails to make them sticky and keep them from jumping in two gears at once. If the problem is still there in the future, pull out the gearshift and build up the little ball on the bottom end with weld and grind it back round to match the rest of the ball (It only wears on the sides). Things to do till you get around to above to prevent it from happening again: Don't shift it fast and don't push down on gearshift as you shift As Paul Harvey says "And now you know the rest of the story".
