I'm pretty amazed at some of the ignorance posted here. I don't care who is, or isn't interested in the tractor. But - isn't this a forum for old tractors? Aren't some people coming here because they have some sort of interest in older tractors? Why post such nonsense when you obviously don't speak from facts?
I posted it since some people have expressed interest in finding a cheaper tractor with live PTO, and a low range suitable for running a rear tiller and/or snow blower. So, I posted this as proof that such tractors can be found cheap.
Just to set the record straight. The tractor I posted the info about - was made in India and Carhill, England and sold all over the USA and Canada. It's a very rugged tractor and just about all parts are available new - OEM from your Case/IH dealer - and aftermarket. I have several versions of these tractors. I bought an engine kit right here on this Website. Also two new waterpumps to have as spares and they are cheap. The B-275 was built 1958 to 1965. But, Mahindra makes a new tractor that uses almost all of the original tractor - except with newer sheet metal and a new DI engine, e.g. the C4505 DI. B-275 has around 32 horsepower, live PTO, live hydraulics, foot-pedal differential lock, a very strong three point hitch, and a four speed trans with a hi and low range - thus giving 8 speeds forward and 2 in reverse.
To moan and complain about a tractor that sells for less then $1200 with these features - plus new rear tires and a el-cheapo front loader - is beyond me.
Not liking IH tractors, or not liking British tractors - that's one thing. I don't care, one way or the other. But, if you want to run something down - try doing some research first. I get parts easier for my British IH tractors than I do for several of my John Deere and Ford tractors. Some of you guys don't have a clue about what you are pontificating about.
