Virgil, the clutch is a wet one, that is it runs in oil from the crankcase. Besure to drain it at the bottom of the bell housing. Yeas you are correct it is a 1948 Case LA. I have one i use for parts. The brakes are usually shot but you can try adding fluid if the are not frozen in place. Parts are available at the local parts place just take the old ones in for samples. If you have to remove the hubs remember that they they are very, very heavy about 300 to 400 lbs ea. Walt
