Just had to share this with everyone. I got this email the other day inquiring about my hay for sale. Well, the intentions were all too obvious to me, so I decided to play along a little and see where it went. Below is the email exchanges so far. After my last one, I doubt I will hear from Mr. Howard again. If I do, HE is the fool!

Hello ,
I'm Stevenson Howard, I am from Canada(Ontario), I saw your advert on hayexchange and am highly interested in Purchasing ( Hay) which you offer for sale. I Have been in search for it for some while now. happy i could find it on here, Please, I like to know if you are the first owner, The present condition, Your final price? I will also like you to know that my form of payment are via verified cheque.

Payment will be sent from my Accountant in the US. I want you to know that, this transaction is legit and i am trusting you as a seller as i have been fraud before, i hope i can trust you.

For convenient and easy transaction, I have a reliable shipping agent who'd be responsible for the Pick up as soon as you receive payment. I await your urgent response so that we can proceed further...
Regards,
Stevenson Howard.

Hello Mr. Howard,
I would be happy to sell you some of my hay. The prices are as stated in the add on Hayexchange. Are you interested in the small square bales, or the 4X4 round bales? How many bales are you interested in?
As far as payment and shipping arrangements, I will accept your check, but before the hay is picked up, your check must clear my bank. Once my bank tells me that the check has cleared, I will contact you and make the arrangements for your shipping agent to pick up.
I too have dealt with fraud, so I'm sure that you will understand my caution.
Thank you for your inquiry,
R. Davis

Dear Davis,

How are you doing? I hope all is well with you and the family? Thanks for getting back to me. I would like to tell you once again that this transaction is legit. You do not need to fear. My payment is been verified by my bank before its going to be issued out to you. You have to deposit it as well to clear your bank before my shipper comes to pick the hay up. Its legit.

I would need 10 small square bales. Let me know the last price as soon as possible. I need your info so payment can be issued out.

Full name:

Full Address

State:

City:

Zipcode:

Phone number:

Please get back to me with the above info. Like i said, you dont need to worry. This transaction is legit. I bet you would love to do business with me next time.

Take care, God bless

Stevenson .

Hello again Stevenson,
Well, 10 small square bales will only come to $35.00. I think for such a small amount of money, you should just have your truck driver bring cash and he can pick the hay up right then and there. But, if this is all the hay you need, quite honestly you would be foolish to have it shipped all the way from Arkansas! I can give you the names of several people right in your area that would be glad to sell you 10 small squares bales, probably even deliver them to you.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of livestock are feeding?
Thanks for the inquiry, but I really do think that for this small amount, you would be further ahead to shop closer to home.
R. Davis

Dear ron
Sorry dont be annoyed. All i mean t say is 70 bales of hay . that should be 2450$. Is the price right? Get back to me with the needed info.

stevenson

Stevenson,
I'm afraid I won't be able to fill your order for the hay we have been discussing. You see, I have just been informed that I have won the INTERNET Lottery! I'll soon be a multi-millionaire and won't need to work in the hay fields any more to make a living. I can hardly believe it. I've given my entire supply of hay to my poor farmer neighbor. I'll pass your name on to him. Maybe he will sell you the hay you need. The poor guy could use the money. Maybe someday soon I'll take a little trip to Canada and visit you. Wouldn't that be nice. I'll even buy you lunch, I can afford it now!
Have a great day!

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
