Chances are that the relay went bad. You could jump it temporarily to make sure that you are getting power to it and the wiring to the fans is o.k. If it's a standard 5 pin relay, the main power should be on pin 30 and pin 87 would be the wire going to the fans. Pins 85 and 86 would be the control wires. One would go to ground (normally 86) and the other would have power when the fans are supposed to be on. A temp sensor should be wired into one the control circuit wires, normally on the ground side. The temp sensor would close above say 200 deg., completing the circuit and the fans would come.
If the car has A/C, that would also be wired into the control side of the relay.
If it's not the relay, a wiring diagram would be very helpful so you know where the power comes from and what it goes through.
