Stepping out of the cab into the sweet smelling air seasoned with cornstalks, soil, diesel exhaust, and hot hydraulic fluid. Just the right amount of chill in the air. Tromp through the corn stubble to my truck at the edge of the field and go meet some friends at the high school ball game. Yup, fall's my favorite time of the year. I think I'm gonna miss doing that stuff this fall.
