You don't think it's price? If it isn't price, what exactly is it? I think Kubota is a great tractor, for it's class, for it's weight etc... but I don't think it compares to some of the other tractors out there. Most places that I see with Kubota's are using them strictly as utility tractors. They're never particularly challenged on the drawbar and genreally use impliments that are about 2 sizes too small by comparison to what one would use on an old Ford or Deere. I'd assume that you're in an area where people only need a lighter utility tractor andthe extra power to weight ratio is not a big factor. When you leave a tonne of cast out of a tractor it sure helps to sell it cheaper than the competition too. NH and Deere were somewhat late to that game by comparison to Kubota, so that gave you fellas a chance to exploit that market and build a name before the others caught up. I'm in an area where 60-100 HP tractors are basically doing all the work from utility jobs to heavy tillage. There are some guys switching to Kubota now, perhaps for no reason other than that's the only dealer left. I'm afraid that some of them are going to find out the hard way that wheel weights aren't going to make up for the tonne of cast iron that they previously had in a TS NewHolland... One other thing I've also noted is that the few guys that do push their Kubota's tend to put them to pasture at 4-5000 hours, BEFORE they start getting into major trouble with them. Personally I think it would be foolish to compare any Kubota to 6000 series Deere or a TS/TS-A/T6000 series NewHolland. They're just not in the same class...
