Ok fellas, your .02 is needed. I am looking to replace the clutch assembly for my 50 B john deere. When I go looking for a different one, expectedly used or rebuilt, what do I look for? Where are the where spots? How do I know which one is wore and which one isnt? Is there a measurement or a degree of resistance that I should look for,and if so, where should I look for it at?I have a trusty salvage yard but I still dont like being at their mercy totally. The one I have now,is just wore to the point that I am reaching clear to the light bar to engage and nearly past me on the seat to disengage. I have done all the adjustments and it did take very little play away. When I was at Oakley,Owasso tractor had some assemblies there but not for a b. They said going price is no more than $50.Does that sound fair? Thank you for all your advice in advance. Sorry the post is so long.
