OK guys,I'll answer my own. Here's what I just found out when I called the office. DON'T GO OUT AND START CUTTING CRP unless you were signed up before July 8th. Becky's words to me were "It doesn't look like that program is going to work for you". She said that she mailed me a fact sheet on another program,but the mailman hasn't been here yet. She said with that one,you can cut as many acres as you want,you're not limited to 50%. BUT,you have to pay USDA 25% of the annual per acre payment on that land. You can only harvest it once every 3 years.She said it can only be cut between August 15th and September 5th. I don't know what the actual acronyn for the program is,but she pronounced it manny. Sounds like if you're hard up for feed and didn't get in on the critical feed use program,this one might save you. It's a little more expensive,but it might beat the heck out of cornstalks and snowballs.
