IH Diesel in Fords

The IH 6.9 diesel did in fact come to life from a gas engine. It was the IH 404, In fact in an IH truck setup, the waterpump is the same. It isn't the same in the Ford because of the fan clutch screwing onto the waterpump, vs the fan bolting on for a truck. Some of the gaskets are the same also. This isnt to say that its a bad engine, in fact I drove one for about 400,000, with only one engine bearing replacement, and head gasket replacement. A year after I sold it, I saw it and its new owner, and he was still driving it.
