you do have 8010 male ends correct. But even then they will do just as you have mentioned. Deal with it on daily basis assembly redo equip in my shop for dealers. You stil have to take the pressure off to get them to work easy and be installed in the bracket holders. I don't like them either. On the forklift that I use to set stuff up with I use only 9500 series lever couplers, once you do this you won't go back period. Rotate lever to release pressure to hookup and unhook under pressue they are nice. 9250-4 is model single units. 9250-4L is left hand unit yellow 9250-4R is right hand unit red these retail like $60.00 to 65.00 each or you can get complete coupling kit like I always do is retail $153.00 range. I can get at dealer cost if you would like but anyway check it out and ask for 9500-4 Coupling kit. Its worth it!!! i know these work as I have to hook and unhook stuff daily under pressure since alot of stuff out there has no safety locks to let the pressure off with in the raised position. Dultmeier handles them if you can't find anyone to help you, and you will not find them on the shelf usually just because you are going from $25.00 30.00 fitting that suppose to work to a $60-65 dollar fitting that does work. Good luck
