Our 1020 needs new front tires. It has 6.5-15 rib and lug type on back. The tractor pulls a york rake or a JD 25A Flail mower and a mid-mount Triumph sickle bar most of the time. I assume the rib on front is for steering, which can be critical in a soft spot mowing the bank of a cranberry bog. Is my thinking correct to stay with this tire? We have a JD 300(same tractor, yellow instead of green) with turf tires in back and 11L-15 on front to use in more delicate areas, so the 1020 is for traction. Where's the best place to buy tractor tires? Real farms, other than cranberry, around coastal SE Massachussetts are prettymuch gone so dealers are few. Can mailorder pay off even with the shipping?
