Those darned bull getting out was my own d@mned fault really. I told the guy who was doing chores for me that I didn't blame him at all.I knew the gate post on the bull pen was weak when I left but I didn't replace it.Some cows came bulling and they broke it off to get to them. Just agrivetes the h*ll out of me to have a live one and loose it in the cold mud like that.Wouldn't have been so bad if it was the first one that I lost this year, but I had one come backwards and lost that one. The very next one came nose first without the feet up and by the time I got her in the chute and pushed it back in to get the feet up,it was dead when I got it out. Problem that I've had with some May calves is that the grass is so tall,I can't see what they're doing. I had a young cow calve in the tall grass two years ago. I sat there on the four wheeler waiting for her. All I could see was the top of her head. When she got up,I went right over. Well, she'd layed there for a few minutes after she had it evidently. The sack was over it's face for too long and IT was dead. Sometimes you just can't win.
