Larry (SD): Lots of pro-Con on oils and some may even be totally corect. Another thing you might keep in mine on these "old Iron" tractors is to give them more of a chance to warm up befor using them.. The machined parts were not computer controled for tolerances etc and super balanced etc etc ..so while oil type is (or could) be important, giving the oil a chance to circulate and let the parts EXPAND to "working size" may do as much good as type of oil..and change often to keep it clean... harvey
