Been There & Done That:

Briefly, I have a 2 car garage. Had my tractor (4000 Ford) in one side (wife was gone for the weekend) and my pickup in the other. Took off empty tire & wheel together, laid it down behind my pickup and made a funnel out of the top of a 1 qt. gear lube bottle. I put 4 gal. of the cheapest anti-freeze I could find. Took me 2 hours with my home-made funnel. Another hour later, got her filled the rest of the way with water. Went to put wheel back on and Couldn't Budge It! It was Too Heavy to even drag! And it was behind my pickup so I couldn't go get help! Luckily I have another tractor, which I used to drag the wheel out of the way & went & got a couple of guys to help me reinstall the wheel.

Went the next day to Tractor Supply Co. (TSC) and found they have a nozzle made for this. The other tire I had done in 30 min, and didn't have to remove from tractor!

Moral:
Go spend the $50. Well worth it, even if you only use it once.

As far as how much, fill her up as much as you can. My manual says 85% with wheel on tractor (be sure to jack wheel off the ground beforre filling!) and 95% if removed like my first one above. 85% is fine with me.

By the way, a lot of opinions about CaCl vs. Ethlyene Glycol (Anti-Freeze). I live in Ga, and 4 gals per tire is more than enough here. Won't rust my rims either. Just gotta be careful about spills. Will kill the hell out of animals and they love its sweet taste!

My opinion and Good Luck!
