I buy my fertilizer from Eldorado Chemical Co. Have several places in Rockwall, Greenville, and Whiteright.
I get the 3 basic ingredients, don't need any lime as I am in alkali soil, but they do have additional elements referred to as K Mag for this blackland soil and it contains trace minerals and other things. They have a brochure and I think their www tells you what part of the plant's development relies on which element and then somewhere, maybe there, they (or somebody) discusses what these trace elements do in the animals.
They even have an ag agent/salesman that comes out and takes soil samples and the chem co runs the analysis for you; rather than having to go to the state ag college to do it for you. Then they loan you the gondola to take it home and spread it. Whadda deal!!!
I have definitely improved my hay since incorporating them into my growing plans and my animals look slick and drop some beautiful calves on time.
