I agree with you partially. A wide front end does give you a shorter arm. Remember, you need two things to cause roll-over: a rolling moment and a pivot point The shorter arm of the pivot point on the wfe reduces the moment( rate of roll being equal) Additional safety is added by the shift in pivot points when the wide front end contacts the static stop and must now pivot on the inside (relative to roll) wheel. This is all mute if the rolling moment is to great.
