I just built one of these and it works GREAT. My loader is really heavy but only held about 1/3 of a bucket before the tractor started "paddle-wheeling". The BHT (Big Heavy Thing) solved the problem. I have CaCl in both tires already and still needed the extra weight. I've added "stay chains" from the top link pins to the lower lift pins (not shown in the picture). These are a good idea and take the load off the hydraulics once it's up. They also stabalize it so it doesn't swing. This winter, if I need to do any snow work (real if'y in the Pacific Northwest), I'll have a back blade on the 3 pt. so I'll need chains for sure. I'm talking to the local tire dealer to see if he'll stock a set of chains in my size and trade them for snow removal at his store. Works for me.
