Just find a wrecked late 80s early 90s throttle body fuel injected GMC/Chevy truck. Will have to adapt the fuel tank for a high pressure pump or mount an external one and have provisions for a fuel return- the truck will have the goofy fittings that attatch to the TBI unit- and you will need a safe place for the computer to sleep, away from moisture and critters. Make an adapter for the TBI to the tractor manifold with some plate and elbows. Good luck with the wiring harness- really nice weatherpack connectors, but all the extra wire now added to your tactor will be a prime target for CRITTERS! Need to adapt a few sensors with bushings perhaps to the engine, coolant temp, manifold pressure, knock and an oxygen sensor. The throttle position is built into the TBI. Again, this is a lot of wiring that will be a prime canidate for the mice to nibble. Only hard thing will be finding a proper computer chip for the computer and without a VSS (speed sensor) your computer will always throw codes at you; but it will run fine. But why add all those wires to a tractor that never sees high rpms? Just stick with a coil wire and a carb? But it is your tractor- just let us know how you figure out how to protect that wiring from the critters! And don't forget some sort of roll over safety device so the fuel pump quits if you ever roll the tractor- it would be the least of your worries if you roll the tractor but you don't want a fuel pump adding fuel to an inferno when you are pinned underneath it.

Today's Featured Article - Field Modifications (Sins of the Farmer) - by Staff. Picture a new Chevrolet driving down the street without it's grill, right fender and trunk lid. Imagine a crude hole made in the hood to accommodate a new taller air cleaner, the fender wells cut away to make way for larger tires, and half of a sliding glass door used to replace the windshield. Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a ...
