Idiot Oliver driver, huh? Well, I don't consider Oliver drivers idiots. In fact, they are likely the best educated tractor enthusiasts you'll find. And thank goodness there's still one company that believes in separate reservoirs for final drive, transmission, and hydraulics. AGCO has continued the Oliver tradition of providing a separate reservoir for hydraulics instead of taking the oil out of one big reservoir, the final drive housing like others seem to be doing. And the cast iron mainframe, another Oliver trademark, also help make AGCO tractors what they are: the finest tractors in the world. As for the casting debate, nobody knew how to cast iron like Oliver and White. The foundry that operated in Charles City, Iowa until about 1993 was one of the finest facilities of its kind in the world. Oliver and White earned several government and industrial contracts for castings because of the superiority of their foundry, even though JD was just down the road. And JD purchased many a casting in their day from Oliver and White, the good ones anyway. As for highboyford, I don't know what it takes to be an expert, but I've read a lot of his postings and he seems to definitely know what he's talking about so I've never had good reason to refute him. So if an agricultural engineer can't find fault with what he's saying, it is very unlikely that the common joe will be able to intelligently contest him. And you, sir, are certainly no expert on Oliver.
