I don't know why I just now realized this but I sure am blessed. My parents quit farming about 12 years ago and I have been renting 40 acres back from them for the past 7 years to "hobby farm". We do all the farming with the old stuff and leave the bigger stuff in the shed. But last night was just awesome for me! I was out picking corn, with my JD 730 and 2 row NI (which is my absolute favorite!) and my girlfriend showed up and brought me supper and took "her spot" on the fender for the rest of the night. My Dad, who just worked 10 hours at a machine shop, rushes home to haul loads in with his dad's original Oliver 77 that was bought new. The corn yeilds are so good that I have to stop every now and again to let the picker empty out the hopper so it doesn't over flow. All this is happeing under the most perfect, cool, crisp fall sky. Wow, what more could a guy ask for!!I think the part I really think about the most, is that Dad is not going to be around here for ever and I really love the fact that we can still farm together!
