I am trying to start a farm bussiness. Everyone I have been dealing with wants farm insurance to cover livestock and product liablity. I have emailed and called over two dozen insurance agents. I found two who would write a farm policy. One was an #@$. Worked 9:00ish to 4:30ish Mon - Fri. No weekend or over time. IN the end he could not find time to drive 20 miles to look at the farm to write a policy. 2nd guy was mad at me for wasting his time. My barn is build with lumber I cut with a chainsaw. Metal roofing from an old house. It wasn"t "pretty" enough to be a farm for him so he told the underwriters not to insure it. My wife and I are now stuck with 4 months worth of products that we can"t sell because we can"t get insurance. thanks for letting me vent. Sorry its so long.
