40 Years ago, I built my house. Put a window in the shower. Contractor friends said 'get that window out of there, the condensation from that window will rot the side of the house around it'
I kept the window.
Now with the dry conditions and the Ponderosas dying out from disease and old age we have a real fire problem here in the mountains. In fact the fire folks just put out a forest fire today on the Manitou incline.
I decided to put fire proof James Hardy siding on the house as added fire protection.
When I pulled off the old siding where the shower is the sheathing, studs, and inside wall came with it. The rot in that wall was incredible. A good stiff wind would have taken it down.
I know this is waaay OT but maybe there is some one out there as dumb as me and this might save them some grief.
