We were supposed to get the bagger either late Tues, or Wed. Morning.
Now the other guy who rented it still has it and we won't see it until probably noon Thurs, and my dad and i both took time off from work to get it done.
We picked up the 986 from the shop down the road (sadly, they only put 6-7 hours on it over the last 2 years since we used it last). While eating lunch dad and I decided we should get something done instead of sitting on our hands, so I hooked onto the haybine and dropped about about 35 acres of 4th crop and 5 of new seeding that was oats and was combined back in June/July. We plan on putting that in the silo on top of maybe 2 loads of corn.
Basically, we've got 4 days to chop about 20 acres of corn and 40 acres of hay, switch the heads over atleast once, (twice if the bagger doesn't come soon enough) and with any luck watch my brother run the marathon on Sunday and sit down for the big family meal on Saturday.
Did I mention that rain that wasn't supposed to be here until Friday night (and not when we'd be running) is now forecasted for about noon?
Doesn't look like I'll have time for church on Sunday at this rate...
