Nearly all old tires were suppose to be at 11 to 12 pounds. Tractor pulling folks run at 11 or less. I adjust mine according to what I am doing. With the 15 foot mower which is quite heavy I run around 16 to 18 pounds so sidewalls won't squat so much on hillsides. In nearly all other field work such as plowing, disking and so on I run 10 to 12 pounds. When I go to the tug pulls to play I run them down to 7 pounds. I have seen many a guy try to pull a turning plow with to much air in his tires and it will not work. They just spin and buck. Just fool around with your pressure and match it to what you are doing. Unless they are radials I would think that 16 to 18 is to much for tillage work.
