I forget, how bigga tractor is an M? Our blower tractor is our Oliver 1600 gasser. Not as big as our hauling tractor(massey 285), but a much better blower tractor.
The years the 1600 didn't run we used the 285 on the blower and the 165 on the wagons, but the 285 has a hydraulic PTO brake and was hell on that. Had to replace it once, and another year would've smoked the next one. The 1600 is fully mechanical, straight shaft to the flywheel. It just grunts a little and shoves it up the pipe.
It probably helps I upped the bore from the 3 5/8 it had to 3 3/4. It was supposed to have a 3 1/2 bore in it according to the serial number, but my grandpa bought it about a year after it was built so I'm thinking the dealer upgraded it and put the bigger pistons/sleeves in the original engine. Either way, I'm sure it puts out a good strong 70 HP now. I had the dealer dyno it after I rebuilt it, but they were afraid to push an engine they didn't build so they only pushed it to about 55HP, which kinda defeated the cost of haveing them test it.
