Get the filthy creatures out. Some particularly nasty molds & bacteria grow in their urine & feces. As they have a high rate of metabolism and there are thousands of bats per attic. They are dropping several pounds of stinking waste per day. I suffered a chronic re-occuring resportory infection childhood until after I moved out from home.Or if I slept over at home. The infection would flare up during a regular cold or allergy session. I was finally prescribed a specific antibiotic after a culture sample, to kill off the bacterial pheumonia. I don't go into attics or sleep at home anymore either. 30yrs of on again off again coughing up green wads and sinous's stuck full of thick yellow snot. And another round of general antibiotics. Every gap or hole large enough to stick a pencil into has to be plugged. Leave a couple of exits with a one way flap.
