Paying "$25 for years" means you have been paying much less than they are worth. Who's fault is that? The hay producer for not charging the appropriate price for what the hay is worth. Unlike the other commodity crops produced on farms, hay does not have the "board" to set the price. This gives a great opportunity to hay producers to set their price rather than take what the board or the elevator "gives" them
I tire of the "well it's worth $2 per bale" selling mentality. This ruins the hay market for those of us that view it (appropriately I may add) as a profit center for our operations. Jim
