OIL PRESSURE: Assuming you have good quality oil of the correct viscosity and that the idle is not too low. Or what do you mean by low RPM? Assuming the pressure relief valve is not stuck or leaking. Assuming the oil filter is not clogged. Assuming the sender unit is good. Assuming the engine is not running too hot. Is the oil pick-up screen clogged? What is the previous history of the engine? Does it burn a lot of oil? COLD STARTING:Is cold start device working properly. Is battery up to snuff. Is starter turning engine fast enough? Has valve gear been checked for clearances. Has a compression test been carried out? Have injectors been cleaned/overhauled/reset or checked for pop-pressure and spray pattern? How 'cold' are we talking about? What is a 'little' when referring to starting difficulty? Is timing correct? You need to address some or all the above before jumping to any conclusions. You need some reliable facts to make a sound decision of whether it needs a rebuild or just some maintenance. Even when you know all, or most, it may only need new shells to improve the pressure, or there again, the crank journals could be oval and it needs a regrind. May only be top end causing poor starting. But rings may be worn out or previously severely overheated. Simple way would be to throw money at it and completely refurbish the engine. But there again, most of it might be wasted. Hope this gives you a few things to think about. These are not all the ideas you might be wanting. Someone else may have a few more that I have omitted.
