And everyone pointed and laughed when I sold my F150 and bought a Honda! Guess I'll laugh now... but it still hurts a little at the pump. My wife and I have been carpooling to work since August. It is somewhat inconvenient for both of us - I have to drive through town instead of on the bypass, and she has to get to work a little early and stay a little late because of my hours. We survive it though and use the cash we have saved to pay extra on loans (should be down to nothing but college loan in about two months). Current price here is from $2.99 up to $3.45 and will probably go up for the weekend. If it goes past $3.50 I will be investing in an older Honda Civic to set up like the del Sol I had to make 40+ mpg in town. The Accord makes around 28mpg most of the time... since the van only makes 19mpg we haven't driven it much since we bought it in January (only about 800 miles so far!). All in all I think there are bigger problems to worry about than gas prices, but we are getting gouged at the pump and record profits for oil companies is NOT right.
